In 1988 he became
principal teacher of art at Douglas-Ewart High School in Newton Stewart until
2002 and continued to have one-man shows in Scotland and England. In 2002
he gave up teaching to paint full time.
Group exhibitions in
recent years include Cyril Gerber Fine Art, Glasgow; Peter Reece Gallery,
Manchester; Fosse Gallery, Stow on the Wold; Open-Eye Gallery, Edinburgh; Dick
Institute, Kilmarnock and Frames Gallery, Perth. Davy has paintings in public collections in Gracefield Arts
Centre, Dumfries;
The British Linen Bank; The University of York; Dick Institute, Kilmarnock and
the RSPB.
